Thank you to all the participants who submitted pictures. We received an overwhelming amount of entries. Our judges narrowed down the selection to 10 photos for each theme, and we are now asking for your help to decide on the best 2.

Ohana means family
It is the people that make us who we are. Through this theme, we wish to capture the spirit of Ohana (family) in this year’s festival.
Show us your food
Take a photo of what you are eating or cooking during the virtual Okinawan Festival. Please add the restaurant name and the name or description of the dish. *Note: Feel free to re-plate your take-out.

Photos will be judged on originality, composition, style, and the ability to embody the overall festival theme of “Sharing Uchinanchu Aloha”
Photos must be taken from 9/4/2020 to 9/7/2020. All entries must be received byHUOA by 9/7/2020 (10:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time).
Participant must be the photographer and the sole owner of the photo.
Photo cannot infringe on any copyright, statutory, common law or other rights of any person, entity, firm or corporation.
HUOA shall retain rights to all photos submitted and has the right to use and publish the photos for HUOA related purposes.
Maximum of 2 photos for each theme, submitted per participant
Winners will be announced on our HUOA website and social media channels.

For any winning photos in which a person/persons is/are recognizable, you must provide a “model release” from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian. A sample model release is available here.
