43rd Okinawan Festival “Sharing Uchinanchu Aloha”
August 30-31 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center

HONOLULU – The Hawaii United Okinawa Association (HUOA) proudly announces the 43rd
Okinawan Festival, taking place August 30–31 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. As one of
Hawaiʻi’s largest and most beloved ethnic celebrations, this year’s festival embraces the theme
“Sharing Uchinanchu Aloha.” The 2025 event also marks two historic milestones — the 125th
anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Hawai‘i and the 40th anniversary of the Sister-State
relationship between Hawai‘i and Okinawa.

The Okinawan Festival celebrates Hawai‘i’s rich multi-ethnic heritage, welcoming both locals
and visitors to enjoy a vibrant weekend of Okinawan music and performing arts, cultural
education, arts and crafts, historical exhibits, craft vendors, genealogy research, Okinawan-
themed children’s games, and — of course — delicious food booths serving Okinawan cuisine
and local favorites such as andagi, andadog, and Okinawan soba.
