NAHA IZUMIZAKI HATAGASHIRA HOZON KAI
The Naha Izumizaki Hatagashira is a traditional performance group from the Izumizaki district of Naha, Okinawa. Hatagashira which can be seen at many festivals and parades in Okinawa, involves carrying, lifting and balancing a large pole with a flag and decorative lantern at the very top.

OHANA ARTS - OKINAWAN PRINCESS DA MUSICAL
Ohana Arts is a non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to providing high-quality training and performance opportunities for young people while using the arts to promote peace and build community. The students of Ohana Arts will perform selections from from Okinawan Princess, a new original musical in development based on the award-winning children’s book by Lee Tonouchi. Music by Jenny Rubin-Taira and Brandon Ufugusuku-Ing, lyrics by Laurie Rubin-Taira and Brandon Ufugusuku-Ing, and direction by Yuka Takara, the musical celebrates Okinawan culture and reminds us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
